FONT PLAYGROUND

Font Playground is a variable font game APP, including several games of font-weight, width and kerning. In the game, users need to manipulate the change of font properties through touch, aiming to get the ball to the finish line successfully.

I was responsible for the graphic and UI design. The game is programmed in Swift language by my teammate. We have tested it on iPhone and it worked perfectly.

字体游乐场是一个可变字体游戏APP,包括关于字重、字宽、字间距的几个小游戏。在游戏中,玩家们通过触控改变字体属性,从而让小球成功抵达终点,通过关卡。









Background: The trend of variable fonts + A lack of font education.
Aim: Learning through playing




(1) Labyrinth: Width Game
Yhe user needs to adjust the width of each line of words, allowing the ball to navigate smoothly through the maze.

(2) Falling: Weight Game 
The user must control the falling speed by changing the font weight properly, in order to catch the ball at the right moment.

(3)Leak: Kerning Game
The user must adjust the word kerning to prevent the ball from leaking down through the gaps in the middle and sides of words.

(4)Bonus: Knowledge Card
After passing each game, the user can get a card of font knowledge.
